On this episode of the Raving Patients Podcast, Len sits down with Leslie D’Agostino to discuss how we've barely scraped the service of the cultural/societal changes that we're beginning to see. Consumers dislike dental insurance just as much as you do; people are looking for alternative options. Playing small will not serve your office, your patient base, or those needing to access care. By offering membership plans, you're lifting the typical insurance barrier, that unfortunately plays a role in your case acceptance rate. Efficiency, however, will be key in order to have team buy-in and scale your automated revenue stream. Companies that have, by definition, automated revenue, are no longer viewed on the same playing field as transactional based companies; automated, subscription based revenue is given a 2-3x multiplier, conservatively speaking, in terms of valuation. Your membership plans should be 100% autonomous, and configured in a way that is not only appealing for those uninsured, but also those who are "insured."
Leslie D’Agostino is the COO and Product Manager of Planrise, a web-based dental membership platform. She is a graduate of TWU and a dental hygienist of 7 years. Leslie completed an internship in oral pathology from Baylor College of Dentistry. Prior to her involvement in the tech space, she managed a business, administrative staffing firm in Fort Worth, TX. It was here she learned trends in the increasing gig workforce, and witnessed a large population that is uninsured and underinsured.
