As many of my listeners know, I completely retired from clinical dentistry in 2022. I've had many ups and downs and learned countless valuable things throughout the various stages of my career, and I'm really excited for the next one.
I've been a clinical dentist for over 23 years, and now my goal is to help dentists get better reviews and understand the tools and techniques of effective online dental marketing. One of the reasons I'm so keen on sharing these techniques is that I had to learn dental marketing the hard way.
In 2007, I purchased a Pennsylvania Center for Dental Excellence practice from a dentist who, unfortunately, had committed suicide.
It was a very well-known practice. He did much advertising and traditional marketing and was ahead of the times. Luckily, the team decided to stay with me, and shortly after, I was running the practice of my dreams.
However, I was $18,000 in debt every month, so I knew I had to drive more patients to the practice. I reached out to many marketing 'gurus' in the industry, but their advice was traditional marketing, such as billboards, yellow page ads, newspapers, magazines, etc.
But I didn't see any solid results, and in hindsight, It was a complete waste of money. I knew that my place was not traditional marketing, it was digital marketing. I was always interested in the internet, and I knew the internet was the way to go.
I figured out how to effectively market my practice online, learning SEO techniques, online reviews, and paid advertising. I reached out to industry leaders to ask them for their advice on how to grow my practice online - and it worked like a charm.
From 2010 to 2011, my practice grew by 100%. We did almost $2 million in 2011. And then in 2012, we did 2.4 million.
