On this episode of the Raving Patients Podcast, Len sits down with Dr. Eric Block to discuss anxiety, burnout, and mental health of dentists. They also discuss DealsforDentists as well as Dr. Block's story to becoming a dentist.
Dr. Eric Block's Bio:
I got my DMD from the Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale in 2002. After NOVA, I knew I wasn't ready for private practice both clinically and mentally I also wanted to get involved with implants b/c I thought it was a future and a way out of just doing general dentistry. I actually thought I was going to be a quote unquote implantologist and just placed and restored implants all day. I went to BU and completed a two-year Dental Implantology residency at Boston University in 2004. It was like a mimi perio/pros but focused on extractions/bone graft and placing and restoring implants. After BU, I entered Private practice after school with about $300Kin debt. I associated for many years and am now a partner/owner of Acton Dental Associates, Which is a 9 operatory multi-specialty practice with about 4500 active patients. I started www.dealsfordentists.com during the coronavirus shutdown. It is a free marketplace where dentists can find the latest new customers from vendors across the industry. Also started The Deals for Dentists podcast where I interview dentists and vendors to find out their stories and how they can help other dentists. Especially young dentists nationwide. I am also writing a book (title to be named later) about dentists and their mental health.
