Change is difficult. It's uncomfortable, complicated and sometimes even painful.
As a dental professional managing a busy practice, creating lasting change, and finding the right mindset to succeed can be challenging. The problem is that not developing that mindset only prevents you from improving your dentistry, growing your practice, and succeeding in life.
Sometimes, you may even get to the point where you feel too exhausted to make lasting changes. As difficult as it may seem, developing the mindset to create change sometimes simply requires you to disconnect for a short while.
So, take a moment, spend it with the people you love, walk away from it all - and you will come back stronger. This advice may seem somewhat trivial, but you shouldn't underestimate the consequences of burnout and stress. When you're not at your best, your patients and your team will notice - which can lead to negative reviews and poor team performance.
The first step to creating lasting change, then, is recognizing your negative behaviors and trying to understand where they're coming from. To achieve this, it's crucial to listen generously to your patients and team members and to be open to feedback. Only then will you be able to address the cause of your negative mindset and take action to improve it.
